California joins other states in committing to new Biden-Harris target to slash pollution and create jobs

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today issued the following statement after the Biden-Harris Administration announced a new national target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as part of the nation’s commitment to the Paris Agreement. 

As we have for decades, California will do our part to cut pollution and clean our air – no matter who is in the White House.

We’re proud to join the Biden-Harris Administration and red and blue states across the nation committed to cutting pollution and future-proofing our economy.

California is a founding member of the U.S. Climate Alliance, a bipartisan coalition of 24 states representing more than half of the American population and U.S. economy. The coalition is committed to achieving the new national targets announced by the Biden-Harris Administration.
