1. 🏥 HELPING PEOPLE WHO NEED IT MOST

CARE Court, a first-in-the-nation approach to empower individuals suffering from untreated or undertreated schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders to get the treatment and housing they need to recover and thrive, is now open in every county in the state—building on early successes of the program. This is a key tool and piece of Governor Newsom’s mental health system transformation focused on helping Californians get the care they need and increasing accountability.
 

2. 👮‍♂️ UPDATE ON PUBLIC SAFETY OPERATIONS

This week, Governor Newsom provided an update on the ongoing joint law enforcement operation in Bakersfield, which has resulted in 2,040 arrests, 804 stolen vehicles recovered, and 61 illicit firearms seized since the operation’s launch in April. Bakersfield is just one community Governor Newsom has launched CHP partnerships to better deliver safety for communities across California.
 

3. 💻 CONNECTING OLDER CALIFORNIANS

In an effort to combat digital disconnectedness among older adults, the California Department of Aging worked with Older Adults Technology Services with AARP to launch the ‘Digital Connections’ program, which provides iPads, internet access, and digital skills training to lower-income Californians. This is all part of Governor Newsom’s efforts to better help aging Californians live successful lives later in life. 
 

4. 🤝 SUPPORTING CALIFORNIA’S YOUTH

Learn about how California is supporting California youth through drop-in centers, which are designed by, with and for youth. Check out what these look like and the various services they provide. This builds on the Newsom Administration’s efforts to support California youth, including through free mental health apps with support providers on the other end – BrightLife and Soluna.
