Gov. Schwarzenegger Issues Statement Congratulating Santa Monica High School on National Science Bowl Win
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
issued the following statement after Santa Monica
High School in Santa Monica, CA,
won the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Science Bowl:
"On behalf of all Californians, I
congratulate the students from Santa
Monica High School
for winning this year's National Science Bowl competition. Their
accomplishment highlights our state's commitment to science education, and I
commend these students for their hard work and dedication."
Santa Monica
was one of 67 high schools competing for this year's title. The U.S. DOE
National Science Bowl is a nationwide academic competition that tests students'
knowledge in all areas of science. Each high school enters a team of four
students, one alternate and a teacher who serves as an advisor and coach.
