Gov. Schwarzenegger Issues Statement Following CTC Allocation of Recovery Act Funds for Transportation Projects
Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger issued the following statement today following action taken by
the California Transportation Commission to allocate $62 million in federal
economic stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
(Recovery Act) and $181 million from Proposition 1B.
"These projects
are a direct investment in our state's transportation infrastructure and will
stimulate California's economy when we need it the most," said Governor
Schwarzenegger. "We are getting Recovery Act money out the door as quickly as
possible to create jobs now and invest in transportation projects that will
improve the quality of life in our state and ultimately strengthen our
economy.
The Recovery Act
funding provides $49 million to advance a widening project on Interstate 215 in
San Bernardino County. The additional $13 million will fund two highway
improvement projects in Monterey and Fresno counties
